I needed to generally share this story with every one of you. As a student of A Course In Miracles, certainly one of my goals is to check out each moment as a chance to practice forgiveness.
I’d one particular moments another day. This is a delicate, yet very tangible experience of the ability of forgiveness inside our everyday lives.
I’d just finished my night with the band I assist regularly in Las Vegas. A patron had thrown a $100 chip up onto the stage as a tip.(Nice!) So I went to the casino cage to profit this chip therefore the band could split it up.
As I was waiting in line, another man came up and simply walked right in front of me. He didn’t look my way, he just acted like I was invisible a course in miracles book, and proceeded to stand in front of me. So, my first instict is, like, “uh, you’re NOT likely to cut in front of me, pal”, and I started getting all tense red and in the face area and all that. And he, who cut, then was grumbling to himself about the length of time it absolutely was taking in the line!! “Oh, man what’re they doing back there, oh, come ON!!” Geez.
However I remembered the Course and what it says, so I thought about taking a look at this example differently. I believed, what does it matter if he goes first anyways? Can it be likely to kill me if I wait one more 30 seconds to profit this chip which I was fortunate to obtain in the first place? You realize, maybe he just gambled away his whole house or something!
So, I let it go, and I relaxed.
Something amazing happened. Not more than 2 seconds from then on thought, this man turned, looked directly at me, and took his devote line behind me! I was amazed.
This forgiveness stuff really works. Similar to the Course teaches , if you select to see things differently, you WILL.
